Adolescent Therapy

Teenage Years

During their teenage years, young people are navigating the challenges of self-discovery and finding their place within their peer group and society. This is a period marked by insecurity, doubt, and self-exploration. The pressures faced by teenagers are comparable to those experienced by adults, but they may find themselves feeling alone and isolated as they work through their problems. It's common for teenagers to feel misunderstood and as if they have no one to turn to.

How Therapy for Teens Can Help?

Therapy for teenagers/adolescents provides crucial support during this transformative period, helping them navigate the many changes they will experience. The aim is to help teens learn how to cope with their emotions and solve problems more effectively. It's important for adolescents to feel secure while exploring their inner world and processing their emotional experiences.

Parents are involved in the therapy to address family conflicts and concerns about the teen’s behavior at school and home. They will learn to identify more effective social skills, better coping mechanisms for issues such as anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and depression, skills for managing stress, and how to create realistic expectations for themselves. They will have the opportunity to process emotional issues and struggles and develop effective strategies to manage their problems.
